Moving the Warsaw Church to Autrey Mill
March 2004
Scroll down for updates!

A major event for the WCCPA, and a needed action to protect the building, was the moving of the old Warsaw Church from the location next to the cemetery over to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve & Heritage Center. Without this move development would have sure destroyed one of the oldest standing churchs in the area. Currently the Warsaw Church is going through renovation at Autrey Mill and expected to be a great asset to the community once complete.

Plans will have the church used for classrooms, assemblies, weddings and of course general viewing and appreciation for the history of the area. We all look forward to the completion of this project.

UPDATED!

Restoration of the historic Warsaw Church has begun over at Autrey Mill. With the long awaited grant from the state, as well as corporate and personal donations to Autrey Mill, we should see continued progress on the historical restoration of the church. Below are images from February and March.

UPDATED!

After a great deal of planning and work by so many we got to the end of restoration work on the Warsaw Church. In August 2008 we were able to have a Dedication and Grand Opening. Many thanks to both the WCCPA board and Autrey Mill. With help from the various Warsaw families in all the pictures given to our Genealogy effort we were able to build and display at the event a slide show presentation of "The Families of Warsaw."
